Boavista vs Famalicao Match Analysis & Prediction

19/03/2023 11:00 pm

Boavista will be looking to leapfrog Famalicao in the Primeira Liga table when they meet at Estadio do Bessa on Sunday night.
The Panthers were beaten 3-0 at Sporting Lisbon last weekend, while Famalicao secured a narrow 1-0 victory over out-of form Casa Pia.
Boavista’s lack of wins in recent gameweeks has seen them lose momentum in the battle to finish inside the division’s European spots.
The latest disappointment result in that run was last week’s 3-0 reverse at Sporting, a defeat that saw them lose nint place in the table, falling to 10th after Famalicao’s win over Casa Pia.
However, Petit’s side could reclaim that spot if they claim maximum points on Sunday night, with both sides separated by goal difference.
The downturn in Boavista’s results goes far back as October, with the dip since beating Sporting 2-1 in September followed by a run of just three victories in the subsequent 17 league matches heading into this weekend’s contest.
Meanwhile, Famalicao enter the contest on an encouraging run of results, showcased by their three victories from four matches, with the only defeat coming against leaders Benfica.
Two of those matches ended without conceding a goal, and Fama have had their rearguard breached only once in that trio of wins.
Only the clubs occupying the Primeira Liga’s leading four spots have claimed more than Famalicao’s three wins in the last five league rounds, demonstrating the decent level of consistency shown by a club that looks to outdo last year’s eighth-place finish.
Boavista vs. Famalicao Head to head
In the nine previous meetings between these two teams, Boavista have claimed two victories while Famalicao have won four, and they have drawn in three. Famalicao have scored 20 goals and conceded 15 in the process.
