Boavista vs Casa Pia Match Analysis & Prediction

14/02/2023 12:15 am

Boavista will face fellow European qualification candidates Casa Pia in the latest round of Primeira Liga fixtures at Estadio do Bessa on Tuesday morning.
The hosts trail their visitors by five points, while The Geese sit in the final Europa Conference League qualification spot.
Boavista are seeking their first appearance in European football since suffering a 2-1 aggregate defeat in the semi-finals of the 2002-03 UEFA Cup campaign against Scottish Premiership side Celtic.
Petit’s side have posted five victories from 10 matches on home soil, scoring the same number of goals as they have conceded at the opposite end of the field.
Occupying 10th place in the Primeira Liga standings, Boavista are unbeaten across their previous three home league matches dating back to a 4-1 defeat at Porto on November 12.
Panteras played out a draw with Santa Clara at the Estadio de Sao Miguel on February 4 before losing 2-1 to Estoril Praia on Thursday after playing the entirety of the second half with 10 men following Ibrahima Camara’s sraight red card with four minutes left of regular time within the opening 45 minutes.
Pursuing their first appearance in a UEFA-organised competition in the club’s 103-year history, Casa Pia have been one of the surprise packages across the first half of the 2022-23 league campaign.
Gracing the Primeira Liga for the first time in 83 years, they possess the fourth-best away record across the top flight after picking up 16 points from the available 27.
Despite just one win in their last five league matches, Filipe Martins’ side have been a force to be reckoned with away from the Estadio Pina Manique, with only the first three teams in the Primeira Liga possessing a better point-per-game ratio.
However, Casa Pia have only scored on 10 occasions on their travels across the current top-flight campaign.
The Geese beat Santa Clara 2-1 at the end of last month through Vila Nova loanee Clayton’s goal deep in second-half injury time. However, they were then helpless to prevent current league leaders Benfica from claiming a 3-0 victory at the Estadio da Luz a week later.
Boavista vs. Casa Pia Head to head
These two teams have previously met on just two occasions, where Casa Pia have come out on top in both meetings, scoring four goals and keeping clean sheets in the process.
