Blackpool vs Birmingham City Match Analysis & Prediction
10/12/2022 6:00 pm
Blackpool will try to end their four-match losing streak when they host Birmingham City in the Championship on Saturday.
The Seasiders are 23rd in the table, having earned only 22 points from their first 21 matches, while Birmingham is 14th, having picked up 28 points from their opening 21 games.
Blackpool recorded an impressive 2-1 victory at Coventry City on October 31, but they struggled to replicate that form in November. They lost their next four matches and won just one of their six games throughout the month.
The Seasiders have won six, drawn four and lost 11 of their 21 league games this season to collect 22 points, which has left them in 23rd position in the table.
Although Michael Appleton’s side is only one point behind 21st-placed West Bromwich Albion, there is still a lot of football to be played in the campaign’s second half.
Blackpool finished 16th in the Championship last season upon their return to the second tier from League One. They hope to avoid relegation back to England’s second division during their first season.
Birmingham City suffered a 2-1 loss to Sunderland in their last match before the season was halted for the World Cup, ending a four-match unbeaten run in the second tier.
The Blues have 28 points from 21 games, which has left them in 14th position in the Championship table with seven wins, seven draws and seven defeats.
John Eustace’s side has the seventh-best away record in the division this season, picking up 14 points from 10 matches on the road, which is equal to what they have managed at home.
Blackpool vs. Birmingham City Head to head
Both sides have 16 games against each other with hosts taking five wins while visitors with six wins, with five draws.

Blackpool Team News
Blackpool will be without Marvin Ekpiteta following his red card against Wigan last time out, so Luke Garbutt will likely come into the XI. The home side also has several injury problems and is unlikely to make many changes from the XI that started against Wigan, with Charlie Patino again set to feature.
