Birmingham City vs Cardiff City Match Analysis & Prediction

14/02/2023 10:45 pm

Birmingham City will be seeking to record a third straight victory when they host Cardiff City at St Andrew’s Stadium on Tuesday night in the Championship.
The Blues came out on top in a West Midlands derby against West Bromwich Albion on Friday, while Cardiff’s poor form continued with a defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Birmingham completed the double over West Brom for the first time since the 1998-99 campaign after beating the Baggies 2-0, a result which continued the team’s upturn in form.
That win on home soil has lifted John Eustace’s side up to 17th in the Championship standings, nine points ahead of the relegation zone and now just eight from the playoff spots.
Those gaps from the bottom three and top six suggest a quiet end to the campaign for Birmingham. However, Blues faithful will know that is never the case, with a fixture against struggling Cardiff at home the type of game to trip Eustace’s side up this season.
Cardiff’s disappointing form since the World Cup break continued on Saturday as they fell to a fourth successive defeat in the Championship at the hands of promotion-chasing Middlesbrough.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side are hovering above the relegation zone on goal difference heading into the contest, sitting 21st in the standings with just 29 points from 31 matches.
The Bluebirds fans have to go back to Bonfire night for their last victory in the Championship, with youngster Mark Harris the matchwinner at the Stadium of Light on that particular occasion.
