Bayer Leverkusen vs Roma Match Analysis & Prediction

18/05/2023 10:00 pm

Roma head to Germany on Thursday to face Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg of their semi-final tie.
Last year’s winners of the Europa League, Roma, lost 1-0 to their German hosts last week and still have hopes for a spot in this year’s Europa League final.
Despite losing their last seven UEFA competition matches against Italian sides, Bayer Leverkusen cannot afford to lose their next three, as only victory offers a route to the Europa League final.
To reach that game at Budapest’s Puskas Arena on the last day of May, Leverkusen must win this week’s return leg against Roma (Wednesday).
While Mourinho has sought to sign experienced pros with proven records in Europe, one of several young guns in the Roma squad decided matters at Stadio Olimpico last week.
Roman midfielder Edoardo Bove struck just after the hour-mark, and his finish proved enough to put his Giallorossi side ahead midway through their latest semi-final tie against Juventus.

Due to injury, Odilon Kossouounou and Robert Andrich have been ruled out for Leverkusen’s second leg against Roma. However, this could mean that Kerem Demirbay and Mitchel Bakker will keep their respective places if they can return, with the latter operating on the left flank and Jeremie Frimpong patrolling the right.
