17/01/2023 10:45 pm
Yeovil Town make a trip to the English capital on Tuesday to take on Barnet at The Hive Stadium in the latest round of matches in the National League.
While the hosts find themselves in the league’s playoff quarter-final spots, the visitors could move eight points clear of the heavily-congested relegation zone.
Barnet have been in impressive form throughout the first half of the season, registering 12 victories from 24 matches, but have more impressive against the familiar backdrop of The Hive Stadium after collecting 26 points from a possible 39.
Dean Brennan’s side are currently unbeaten in their last six matche across all competitions, off the back of progressig to the fifth round of the FA Trophy following a 2-0 away victory over Solihull Moors at Damson Park on Saturday.
Barnet started the new footballing calender year with a 1-1 draw with Boreham Wood on January 2 before needing an 88th-minute equaliser five days later from Nicke Kabamba to salvage a late point against Gateshead.
While Yeovil have had their trouble in the final third of the field, it is notable that they dopossess the division’s third-best defensive record after conceding just 26 goals across 25 matches.
Two victories across their last five matches would have boosted confidence within the camp, but it is worth noting that the Yeovil fan base are yet to savour the taste of three away points on their football palates this season.
Jordan Maguire-Drew and Matt Worthington will undoubtedly be integral to Yeovil’s mission in North London after the pair scored in their 2-0 victory over Torquay United on January 1.
