Barcelona vs AC Milan Match Analysis & Prediction

Two European giants yet to suffer defeat in pre-season put their unbeaten records on the line on Wednesday, when Barcelona and AC Milan meet at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
Hansi Flick’s side edged a ‘friendly’ El Clasico against Real Madrid on Sunday, prevailing 2-1 over Los Blancos, while AC Milan coincidentally beat the European champions 1-0 on Thursday.
On the back of scoring the opening goal in Barcelona’s 2-2 stalemate against Manchester City, Pau Victor struck either side of the halftime break to propel his side into a healthy lead against Real, which was ultimately halved by a Nico Paz header.
However, that 82nd-minute intervention did not spark a comeback from Real, as Barcelona maintained their unbeaten record in pre-season – their 2-2 draw with Man City preceded a penalty-shootout success over the Premier League champions.
Quickly adapting to the methods of former Bayern Munich manager Flick, Barcelona take part in their second-last friendly on Wednesday, after which Moncao will be their final pre-season opponents at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on August 12.
An 11th straight Joan Gamper Trophy will be at stake in that contest for Barca, who are still housed at the Olympic Stadium while the Camp Nou renovations continue, although there is hope that they will be back at their regular headquarters by the end of the year.
Also enjoying life with a new head coach at the helm, Milan can share a joke with Barcelona when it come to beating Real Madrid this summer, as Paulo Fonseca masterminded a 1-0 victory over the reigning European champions in Chicago on Thursday.
Samu Chukwueze’s solitary strike was the difference between the two sides that day, as Milan made it two wins from three friendly matches during a productive pre-season so far – they also edged a five-goal thriller with Manchester City and drew 1-1 with Rapid Vienna in their opener.
Barcelona vs. AC Milan Head to head
In the previous 16 meetings between these two teams, Barcelona have claimed seven victories while AC Milan have won four, and they have drawn in five. Milan have scored 17 goals and conceded 23 in the process.
