Both Auxerre and Monaco will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in Ligue 1 when they face off at the Stade del I’Abbe-Deschamps in their Matchday 16 tie as the league returns on Wednesday night.
Auxerre have made a disappointing campaign in Ligue this season, with the managing only 13 points from 15 league matches and currently sit in the relegation zone.
They suffered a 5-0 defeat to PSG before the World Cup and will look to make amends on Wednesday night. They are coming off a confidence-boosting warm-up session where they won two of their three friendly fixtures during the break and will be hoping to build on the run as they seek to get their league campaign back on track.
Monaco meanwhile, have made a good campaign so far in Ligue 1 and currently sit sixth on 27 points from 15 games, one point outside the European places.
They suffered 3-2 home defeat to Marseille before the international break, ending their back-to-back victories. They will now look to get back on track as the league action returns this week and are full of confidence following their 4-2 away win over Premier League side Leeds, in their final warm-up fixture.
Monaco have also not lost to Auxerre in their last five encounters, claiming three victories and should be fancying their chances on Wednesday night.
