Atalanta vs Salernitana Match Analysis & Prediction

The Bergamaschi and ailing Salernitana square off for three points at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday. While Atalanta BC broke their slump with a comeback victory in Bologna, their southern counterparts last won in October and have slid down the Serie A standings.
Despite a 3-2 defeat to Emilia-Romagna on Monday night, Atalanta has at least come away from Stadio Renato Dall’Ara with a win after falling a goal behind early on.
After drawing their first league match since returning from the winter break at Spezia and defeating Bologna 3-2 on Saturday, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men triumphed again on the road to pick up maximum points.
Even if Atalanta have finally triumphed on the road, their demise on home soil mirrors a similar loss of form in Bergamo last term: three straight defeats at the Gewiss Stadium have followed three consecutive wins earlier in the season.
After their shock wins at Lazio in late October, Salernitana has leaked 10 goals in the intervening five games and has failed to win any.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Milan in their return to competitive action after the break and a 1-1 draw with Davide Nicola’s former club Torino. They are now on their longest winless run since the coach joined them early last year: they occupy the 14th spot in the table after 17 rounds.

Gian Piero Gasperini should have a near-fully fit squad available on Sunday, with only Luis Muriel having to train individually due to a heel problem this week and potentially missing out.
