Aston Villa will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Villa Park for the eighth round of the Premier League on Saturday with kickoff at 17:00.
It has not been an easy start for Aston Villa who parted ways with their talisman Jack Grealish over the summer, having collected three wins, one draw and three defeats in their opening seven matches and currently occupy the 10th spot with 10 points in the Premier League standings.
Villa head into the match in a below average form having only won two, drawn one and lost three of their last six games across all competitions and are coming off a disappointing 2-1 defeat to a struggling Tottenham Hotspurs on October third, with Ollie Watkins cancelling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s first half goal but Matt Targett’s own goal propelled Tottenham back to winning ways as Villa’s mixed-up start continued.

Meanwhile Wolves endured a shaky start to their new Premier League campaign under the new management of Bruno Lage who saw his side lose in all of their opening three matches. However, Lage appears to be working his magic to a good effect due to his side’s recent run of results as they have now won three of their last four Premier League matches, including the back-to-backs wins over Southampton and Newcastle that has seen Lage’s team move to the mid table with nine points.
Wolves head into the match in an average form having recorded three wins and three defeats in their last six matches across all competitions have kept two clean sheets in their last two league matches on the road. A win on Saturday will see Lage’s side leapfrog their opponents making this a fascinating fixture to watch.
