Arsenal vs Manchester City Match Analysis & Prediction

League leaders Arsenal play host to Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday in a game between the top two sides in the Premier League standings.
The hosts are seeking to avoid a third successive league game without a victory, while their visitors could knock the Gunners off their perch at the summit should they claim maximum points in the capital.
While hopes of lifting the first Premier League title for nearly two decades remain firmly in sight, Arsenal have endured somewhat of a blip from their usual high standards in recent weeks, with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Everton followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Brentford on Saturday.
The Gunners have sat at the Premier League summit since November, but their once eight-point lead has now been cut to just three after dropping points in three of their last five matches, and their unbeaten home run will be put to the test by the reigning champions on Wednesday.
Arsenal have failed to win each of their last 13 Premier League meetings with Man City and have lost aall of their last 10, their longest losing run against an opponent in their top-flight history.
After being accused of breaching more than 100 financial rules by the Premier League and facing the prospect of unprecedented charges including points deductions or expulsion, Manchester City responded in defiant fashion with a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in front of a fired-up Etihad crowd on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola will have been pleased to have seen his side bounce back from their disappointing 1-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur a week prior, and City’s latest challenge comes at the Emirates against an Arsenal side seeking to snatch the Premier League crown.
Manchester City have enjoyed their recent visits to the red side of North London as they have won each of their last six away matches against Arsenal across all competitions, and such a record along with the prospect of climbing to the top of the table – although on goal difference – is sure to motivate the Citizens in their quest for victory on Wednesday.
However, Manchester City’s form away from home this season has left a little to be desired, winning just six of their 14 away matches across all competitions, and they head to the Emirates having lost their last two Premier League away games against rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal vs. Manchester City Head to head
In the 186 previous meetings between these two teams across all competitions, Arsenal have claimed 89 victories while Manchester City have won 55, and they have drawn in 42. City have scored 229 goals and conceded 297 in the process.
