Aberdeen vs Rangers Match Analysis & Prediction
20/12/2022 11:00 pm
After getting back on track, Rangers will be looking to continue to build on their impressive start to the Premiership season on Saturday when they make the trip to Pittodrie Stadium to take on Aberdeen.
Aberdeen came out on top in their last game before the Premiership took a pause for the World Cup in Qatar, claiming a 1-0 victory over Dundee United on November 12.
However, things did go the unpleasant ways when they got back to league action on December 17, where they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Celtic on their own turf, which would have been considered an unavoidable loss to the league leaders, given the inconsistency of Aberdeen in recent occasions.
Aberdeen have now won just two of their last five league matches, losing the other three, and that poor run of results is unlikely to stop on Tuesday due to the fact that they are facing a Rangers side who seem to be on the right track with 11 points ahead and are chasing Celtic at the top.
With Aberdeen in third place on 25 points after 16 matches, Rangers enter the contest in second place with 36 points after same amount of matches, and they are nine points adrift of leaders Celtic.
Rangers played out a 1-1 draw with St Mirren in their last game before the break, and before getting back to the Premiership action, they claimed a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen on December 10 in a friendly match.
The Gers now enter the contest off the back of a 3-2 victory over Hibernian in their first game after the World Cup break on December 15, and they will feel confident of extending their league winning run to two on Tuesday as they continue their pursuit of Celtic.
Michael Beale’s side suffered their last league defeat on November 6 when they were beaten 2-1 away at St Johnstone, and they are since unbeaten in four encounters including the friendly with Leverkusen, which will be considered as an ideal preparation to face their third-placed opponents.

Antonio-Mirko Colak has been the most prolific player for Rangers in the final third of the field, scoring on four occasions, but he is unlikely to feature due to a minor muscle injury.
With his absence, Alfredo Morelos will take the duty of leading the line in a probable 4-2-3-1 formation.
