League leaders Porto will be getting into action in round 19 of the Portiguese Primeira liga when they host Famalicao at the Estadio do Dragao on Sunday.
Famalicao will enter the contest looking to end their dry spell in this fixture and get one over the hosts after losing each of the last three encounters between the sides since 2020.
Porto continued their impressive race for their 30th Primeira Liga title last Sunday when they took a 4-1 victory over 10-men Belenenses at the Estadio Nacional do Jamor.
Before that, Sergio Conceicao’s side secured a smooth progression to the semi-finals of the Taca de Portugal through a 3-1 victory over Vizela at the Estadio de FC Vizela on January 12.
The Dragons have now won each of their last eight matches in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and keeping four clean sheets since a 3-1 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League back in December.
Porto currently sit at the top of the Primeira Liga table with 50 points from 18 games, three points ahead of reigning champions Sporting Lisbon in second place.
On the other hand, Famalicao failed to pull away from the relegation places last time out when they played out a goalless draw against Pacos de Ferreira at the Estadio Municipal de Famalicao.
Despite that result, Rui Silva will be impressed by his side’s performances as they head into Sunday’s fixture unbeaten in each of their last three games since stumbling out of the Taca de Portugal at the hands of Portimonense on December 21.
Famalicao will head into the Sunday’s fixture having won three, drawn seven and lost eight of their 18 matches this season to collect 16 points and sit 15th in the table, level on points with Vizela in the relegation playoff spot.
