Portimonense vs Vitoria de Guimaraes Match Analysis and Prediction

Primeira Liga’s round 18 comes to an end when Portimonense host Vitoria de Guimaraes at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao on Monday.

The two teams enter the contest separated by just a point in the league table, and the visitors will aim to get one over Portimonense after defeats in both home and away fixtures last season.

Portimonense’s Taca de Portugal campaign came to an end in the quarter-finals as they were kicked out through a 4-2 defeat by Segunda Liga outfit Mafra at home.

Paulo Sergio’s side now turn their attention to the Primeira Liga, where they are currently on a three-game winless streak, drawing once and losing each of their two most recent games on the road.

As for Vitoria de Guimaraes, they continue to struggle for form in the league as they lost 3-2 to Gil Vicente at the Estadio Cidade de Barcelos last time out.

They have not won in any of their three most recent outings, losing twice and drawing once since picking up successive victories over Pacos de Ferreira and Tondela back in December.

Vitoria de Guimaraes have won six, drawn five and lost six of their 17 games this season, collecting 23 points which has seen them sit 8th in the table, one point and place below their opponents.

Pepa’s side lost in each of the two encounters between the sides last season, conceding four goals and failing to find the target over two legs.
