Both Nottingham and Notts County will finalize their pre-season preparations when they lock horns at the Meadow Lane on Tuesday.

Nottingham did well to secure a promotion to the Premier League through playoffs at the end of the Championship last season. They have been showing their ambitions of wanting to stay in the top flight in the preseason. They have had a busy and successful pre-season so far as they have played six friendlies, winning three, drawing one and losing two.

They have also bolstered their squad with several acquisitions, with the latest and probably most exciting to the fans being the arrival of Jesse Lingard on a free transfer from Manchester United.

They will take on Nott County in their final pre-season friendly before opening their Premier League campaign against Newcastle United at away. They will look to hit the ground running in that match and thus will be looking for a positive result here as a confidence booster.

Meanwhile Notts County have also had a successful preseason campaign so far playing for matches and have won three and drawn in the process.

They are building towards their National League opener against Maidenhead United on August 6 and will want to go in with confidence, which could come with a win on Tuesday. Notts have already beaten a Premier League side the preseason, winning 2-1 against Leicester and will endeavor to claim another.
