Both Norwich and Brentford will be looking to return to winning ways when they lock horns at Carrow Road in their Premier League Matchday 28 tie on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:00.
Norwich have been struggling this season with the club claiming just four wins in their 26 matches while picking up five draws and suffering 17 defeats in the process. They currently sit at the bottom of the league with five points adrift of safety, although they have played two matches more than the 17th-placed Everton.
They head into the match in a poor form having won none of their last five matches across all competitions, suffering defeats in their last four in a row. Although it’s understandable given that they have played Liverpool twice and Manchester City in the run. They are coming of a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup last Wednesday night.
They suffered a 2-0 defeat to Southampton in their previous Premier League outing, they have now failed to win in their last four league matches, but the Canaries seem to always get better of the sides around them on the table. Their last Premier League win came against fellow relegation candidates Watford in January claiming a 3-0 victory on the day. Prior to that they beat other relegation battlers Everton 2-1 at Carrow Road.
Meanwhile Brentford were left empty handed again in the Premier League as they fell to 2-0 home defeat to a resurgent Newcastle who leapfrogged them in the standings. The Bees have now failed to win in their last nine matches across all competitions, picking up just one draw while suffering eight defeats in the process.
They now sit just three places and three points above the relegation zone and have played at least one match more that all the sides below them. Another defeat on the weekend could leave them in the danger zone and them more than anyone else will want to stay up having earned their first promotion in 74 years.
Therefore Thomas Frank’s side will be desperate to snap out of their poor and disappointing form, making this match a close affair that both sides will fancy to win. Although we will put our money on Norwich as they have a good record over Brentford. Recently they have only lost once to the Bees in their last seven meetings and they claimed a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
