Arsenal will look to extend their winning streak to five matches on the bounce across all competitions when they visit Carrow Road to take on Norwich City in a Premier League fixture on Boxing Day with kickoff at 18:00.
Arsenal have been flying high recently amidst the ‘Aubameyang situation’ with club winning all their last four matches across all competitions and finding the back of the net 14 times in the run without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners are coming off a convincing 5-1 victory against a League One outfit, Sunderland in the first quarter final of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night with cup specialist Eddie Nketiah netting a hat-trick and the eighteen-year-old starlet Charlie Patino also got his name to the scoreboard as his Mikel Arteta’s side booked the first spot in the semifinals.
The win marked Arsenal’s fourth win in a row as they were coming off a three-match winning streak in the Premier League overcoming both Southampton and West Ham at home before demolishing a depleted Leeds last weekend at Elland Road.
The win against West Ham saw them move into the top four and will undoubtedly be needing to take all the three points in such games if there are to secure a return to the desired Champions League during the second half of the season.
Meanwhile Norwich City are among the victims of the latest Cojvid-19 outbreaks in most of the Premier League clubs and as a result they had their fixture against West Ham on last weekend postponed due to a virus outbreak in the squad.
Prior to all that, Norwich were coming off a three-match losing streak with the latest being the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at home, which marked their fifth winless match in the Premier League. They currently sit in the bottom of the table on 10 points with three points adrift of safety, but the Canaries have played at least one game more than the other two in the drop zone and thus will need to accumulate points at a greater rate if they are to survive.
