North Macedonia will welcome Gibraltar to Tose Proeski Arena for the fourth round of the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League campaign on Sunday night.
North Macedonia head into the match on the back of a humiliating 3-0 defeat at home to Group C4 leaders Georgia on Thursday. They have now recorded mixed results in the continental showpiece so far, having picked up a draw and a win in their first two fixtures.
They opened with a 1-1 draw against Bulgaria at away, before claiming a comfortable 2-0 over Gibraltar at away in their second fixture. North Macedonia now sit second in the group standings with four points from three fixtures and are five points behind Georgia.
Broja Milevski’s side will now be hoping to reduce the gap with a victory on Sunday, and they will fancy their chances having already gotten the better of their visitors this campaign at away. They have now beaten Gibraltar in their last three meetings, they should be confident.
Meanwhile Gibraltar are pretty much the group’s whipping boys with the side having already suffered two defeats from their opening three games. They opened with a dumping 4-0 defeat home defeat to Georgia, before the 2-0 beating by their Sunday hosts.
They however did well to hold Bulgaria to a 1-1 draw last time out and will be looking to build on the draw as they seek to stand a better chance of avoiding relegation. But, Julio Cesar’s side will need a miracle to get anything out of the Sunday’s clash.
