The Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco will host Nicaragua and Ghana on Tuesday as they go head-to-head in a friendly match with kickoff at 9 pm.
Ghana could not contain Brazil on Friday in Le Havre, where they fell to a 3-0 defeat. Otto Addo’s men conceded early on when Marquinhos scored in the ninth minute before Richarlison grabbed two goals later.
Ghana now has three losses in four matches since June, when they had a streak of three wins earlier this year. Awaiting them, next is the first-ever game against an opposing team 79 places below in the latest FIFA ranking of all national teams.
In their final outing before jetting off to Qatar in November, Ghana will be looking to dominate their opponent here and set the tone for next year’s World Cup with a strong performance.
Nicaragua suffered their second defeat in as many matches on Thursday following a 2-1 loss against Suriname at the Yanmar Stadion.
After conceding an early opener, Marco Antonio Figueroa’s men restored parity through Josue Quijano before Jeredy Hilterman struck a late winner to end La Azul y Blanco’s unbeaten streak, which kicked off back in March.
That result means Nicaragua’s Nations League journey ends on a low note ahead of next year’s resumption of international action.
