Manchester United will be looking to continue their resurgence in the Premier League when they visit St James Park on Monday the 27th to take on a struggling Newcastle United in an important league fixture with kickoff at 23:00.
Newcastle United have been on the receiving end this season with club losing 10 of their 18 top-flight matches, while winning just one and drawing seven in the process. The appointment of Eddie Howe has not exactly led to the upturn in the fortunes at St James Park with the club coming off a three-match losing streak.
Although, Eddie Howe definitely has the Magpies playing better football but they remain wide open at the back and it’s something he needs to fix quickly if they are to get out of the relegation zone as they sit in the 19th position level on 10 points with the 20th-placed Norwich city who have a match at hand. They are two points adrift of safety but the 17th –placed Watford have two matches in hand.
They head into the match in a poor form having won just one in their last six, drawn also one and have suffered four defeats in the run and are coming off a 4-0 defeat at home to Manchester City and will be fascinating to see how they manage against United.
Meanwhile Manchester United are now almost back to full strength having seen their matches against Brentford and Brighton postponed because of the ongoing coronavirus outbreaks and they have returned to training with just a few missing.
United have been on resurgence since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer going unbeaten in their last six a run that has seen them rise up the table. They currently sit in the sixth spot on 27 points with five points behind the fourth-placed Arsenal and two matches in hand.
United boast a solid defence under Ralph Ragnick with the Red Devils conceding just one goal in their last three matches and Ralph will expect another clean sheet here. They will fancy their chances here as they have won each of their last four encounters against Newcastle, scoring at least three goals in each meeting but they are without a clean sheet against the Magpies since January 2019.
