Nantes look to conclude their campaign when they welcome a struggling and relegation-threatened Saint-Etienne to Stade de la Beaujoire on Saturday night with kickoff at 22:00.
Nantes secured their survival through playoffs last season; however, they have improved on that this season as they are bound to finish in the top-half despite the results on Saturday. They currently sit ninth on 54 points from 37 games, level on points with 10th-placed Lille and six points above 11th-placed Brest.
Also the Canaries are bound to play in Europe next season after winning the Coupe de France this season. Nantes lifted the trophy after beating Nice 1-0 in the final on seventh this month. They will now be looking to finish their commendable season in a style, and sending St-Etienne to Ligue 2 in the process.
Saint-Etienne, have made an abysmal campaign this season and are hanging on the brink of relegation heading into the last fixture. The saints currently sit 19th, level on 31 points with 18th-placed Metz who occupy the relegation-playoff spot.
Therefore they still have a chance to salvage their campaign through playoff but they will need to win or draw on Saturday and hope that Metz lose in their fixture. However, they have been in a poor form recently as they have failed to win in their last five league matches and are coming off a four-match losing streak. They will need to be at their absolute best to get anything out of Nantes here.
