Namibia face Mozambique in their last group stage match of COSAFA cup on Wednesday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium with kickoff at 13:00.
Namibia will face Malawi at the Wolfson Stadium on Tuesday before taking on Mozambique with a semi-final spot up for grabs. Namibia have been impressive in this tournament having won both of their opening matches against Senegal and Zimbabwe scoring four goals and only conceding only one in the two matches. They are currently occupying the top spot in Group B standings with six points.
The Brave Warriors are now left with two matches and they are in a good position to progress to the semis but they still need at least one more win to secure that spot in the last four.
Mozambique started off their campaign slowly as they drew 0-0 with Zimbabwe in their opening match and proceeded to lose 1-0 to Senegal in their second match. However, after the two unsuccessful matches they found a way to build on and bounce back to an impressive 2-0 win against Malawi with goals from Vitinho and Francisco Simbine.
Mozambique are now in the second place in group B standings with four points thanks to the Sunday’s win. Currently the Os Mambas are in a good spot to progress to the next round, however, teams below them have a match in hand which makes Mozambique disparate for a win coming to this match. The Brave Warriors stand in the way of Mozambique and their much-needed win which won’t be easy the Os Mambas who have failed to win a match in their last five meetings against Namibia.
