Motherwell aim to end their nine-game winless run in the Scottish Premiership when they welcome Dundee to Fir Park on Saturday.
The visitors were held to a goalless draw in midweek, and they are running out of matches in order to fight for their survival.
Motherwell have recently been in low form, having failed to win in their last nine matches, with the victory over Livingston in December being their last.
Their recent performances have let the club slip down into the bottom six, and that could drop down to ninth with a defeat on Saturday, depending on other results.
Graham Alexander will expect more from his players this weekend, especially since they are hosting Dundee, who have the worst away record in the division.
However, recalling the previous meeting between the two teams, it was the Dark Blues who pulled off an upset to win 3-0, something Motherwell cannot afford to happen again.
Meanwhile, Dundee will be desperate to repeat that result on Saturday as they find themselves 10 points adrift of safety, although they have one game in hand on teams above them.
They were able to avoid defeat on Wednesday, battling out a goalless draw against Hibernian, something the team will take confidence from heading into the weekend.
Mark McGhee’s side have gone three matches in a row without a victory, which is a form that they will want to overcome immediately as the final run for the season takes place.
The Dark Blues could overtake St. Johnstone with a victory, depending on the results the Saints pick up this weekend, and that would help aid battle for safety.
Dundee have been putting together some impressive performances overall, having only lost three times in their previous eight maatches in all competitions, proving they are not going down without a fight.

Kevin van Veen could retain his place up front, with Kaiyne Woolery and Connor Shields being either side of him.
Charlie Adam returned for Dundee against Hibernian to bring his experience to the midfield, and after a clean sheet, the captain could retain his place.
Jordan Marshall was back in the starting XI for the recent draw, while Lee Ashcroft was able to feature from the bench, providing a boost for the squad.
Prediction and Odds
Motherwell enter the contest as the likely favourites due to their league position, but that does not guarantee them a straight victory.
Dundee have recently been putting together good performances overall, and with the poor form of the hosts, this could be a chance for them to gain a much-needed win.
