Celtic will be looking to keep their top spot in the Scottish Premiership with another win on Sunday when they travel to Fir Park to square off with Motherwell in an important league fixture with kickoff at 16:30.
Celtic have been working tirelessly to get catch up with Rangers in the title race and their hard work has finally paid off as the Hoops head into the Sunday clash on top of the league after displacing Rangers. It was the emphatic Old Firm derby victory that saw them overtake their fierce rivals to the summit, where they lead with one point.
Celtic were dominant and ruthless on Tuesday night especially in the first half as they raced to a three-goal lead before the break whistle blew, with Reo Hatate, opening the scoring in the fifth minute before scoring again in the 42nd minute and Liel Abada closed with a 44th strike.
The win continued a fantastic run for the Hoops as they are now undefeated in 14 matches across all competitions and it was their sixth consecutive win. They will be attempting to extend the form as they aim at holding on the top spot.
Meanwhile Motherwell have been made a fairly good campaign this season with the club claiming 33 points from their 24 matches to sit fourth in the league rankings.
However, Graham Alexander’s men have quietly gone under radar in recent weeks with the team claiming just two points from their last four Premiership matches and as a result they have creeped into fourth spot with just two points above fifth-placed Hibernian.
The Buddies’ frustration continued last time out when they were forced to fight from behind to salvage a point at St Mirren, thanks to Ross Tierney’s last-gasp equalizer and now they face visit from a side they have fallen to in their last 10 consecutive encounters.
