Monza are set to play their first ever Serie A game when Torino come calling at the Stadio Brianteo in their 2022/23 season opener on Saturday night.
Monza managed to secure their big promotion to the Serie A last season through the promotion play-offs, after beating Pisa 6-4 on aggregate in the final.
They have had successful preparations for the Saturday opener going unbeaten in their five pre-season matches and winning four of the matches. They were involved in their first competitive match of the season last Friday where they saw off Frosinone 3-2 in the Coppa Italia round of 64.
They have also gone unbeaten in their last 13 home matches winning the last eight in a row and will keen to maintain the run on Saturday night.
Meanwhile Torino had an inconsistent campaign last season, but managed to finish 10th and will be looking to build on that as they seek to push for the European spots this season.
They had an inconsistent pre-season campaign recording three victories and two defeats from their five friendly matches, but they started their 2022/23 campaign with a 3-0 win over Palermo at home in the Coppa Italia on Sunday and will be keen to build on the success.
