Nice will be looking to extend their unbeaten run across all competitions when they travel to Stade de la Mosson to take on a struggling Montpellier in their Ligue 1 Matchday 28 fixture on Saturday evening with kickoff at 19:00.
Montpellier were left empty-handed again when they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Nantes at away last Sunday. Prior to the defeat Montpellier were coming off a 4-2 home loss to Rennes in Ligue 1. They have now just won one of their last six matches across all competitions, while have won just two of their last eight Ligue 1 matches, losing all the other six matches.
The run has seen them drop down into the 11th spot in the standings with now three points off the top-half. While they will not be worried about being dragged into a relegation scrap as they are some 13 points above the danger zone, they will be keen to return to winning ways as they look to return to top-half and hope to get close to the European places again.
They will draw confidence from their recent fine run against Nice having won in three of their last four Ligue 1 meetings, including the 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
Nice, meanwhile have been flying high this season and they are fresh from another memorable win over runaway leaders PSG, with Andy Delort striking the difference in the 88th minute. The win saw them extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to four matches, picking up just a draw in the run, while it marked their second win in their last three Ligue 1 matches.
The win also saw them leapfrog Marseille with two points to restore their second place in the standings while also cutting the gap between them and the league leaders, PSG to 13 points. They will now be looking to maintain their momentum as they aim at keeping their status in the league standings.
With their current momentum Nice will fancy their chances of edging Montpellier on Saturday despite having not won at Stade de la Mosson in their last five visits.
