Montenegro and Romania will get their 2022-23 UEFA Nations League campaign underway when they lock horns at the Podrorica City Stadium on Saturday night with kickoff at 21:24 EAT.
Montenegro and Romania have been drawn in Group 3 of League B alongside Bosnia & Herzegovina and Finland. Therefore this a fairly open group, although these two will need to start positively and take points off each other, as it could prove difficult against Finland and Bosnia.
Montenegro head into the clash off a 1-0 win over Greece at home, ending their four match winless run in all competitions and will be looking to build on that as they hope for a quick start in this year’s campaign.
The hosts are also in a good home form having gone unbeaten in all but one of their last four games on their home soil and should be confident of extending that run on Saturday. However, Montenegro have failed to win against Romania in their last two meetings with the most recent one ending in a 1-0 win for Romania and thus they will need to be at their absolute best on Saturday.
Romania, meanwhile, have also been struggling for form lately with the side claiming two wins, two draws and two defeats from their last six games across all competitions. They are coming off a 2-2 draw with Israel, which was following a 1-0 defeat to Greece at home.
They therefore look to bounce back on Saturday and they sure possess enough quality to get over Montenegro, although we expect a very close encounter that could be forced to a share of the spoils.
