Montenegro host Greece in their second international friendly this break at Podgorica City Stadium on Monday night with kickoff at 21:00.
Montenegro continued their poor run as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Armenia in an international friendly on Thursday, with a first half strike from Vahan Bichakhchyan proving to be enough to separate the two sides. Montenegro have now suffered two defeats on the trot across all competitions while have won only one of their last 11 matches in all competitions.
In fact, the Brave Falcons have won only three times since the start of last year. All the wins came in the World Cup Qualifiers, but were not enough to book a place in the Qatar World Cup finals as they finished fourth in Group G with 12 points from 10 matches.
They however still have the Euro Nations League to prepare for and will look to bounce back as they look to gain confidence ahead of start of the competition in June.
Meanwhile Greece also failed to book a place in the FIFA world Cup finals in Qatar later this year after finishing third in Group B with 10 points from eight matches.
However, the Sky Blue and Whites head into the match in a good mood having squeezed a 1-0 victory over Romania on Friday. Andreas Bouchalakis scored the only goal in the 39th minute, to end Greece’s three-match winless run.
Another positive result on Monday will be a massive-confidence booster for the Gus Poyet’s side ahead of the UEFA Nations League campaign that commences early June.
