Both Moldova and Andorra will be looking for their second victories in the on-going 2023 UEFA Nations League campaign when they face off at Zimbru Stadium on Tuesday night.
Moldova who are seeking an immediate return to League C after they got relegated last season, started their campaign positively, dispatching Liechtenstein 2-0 to open their account in style.
However, they failed to build on the victory as they have since drawn 0-0 with Andorra and suffered a 4-2 defeat to group leaders Latvia. They now sit second in Group 1 of League D, level on four points with third-placed Andorra and five points behind Latvia.
Moldova now need to bounce back to winning ways if they are to challenge for a top finish, although as things stand it will take a miracle to overtake Latvia, who are taking on group whopping boys Liechtenstein.
Meanwhile Andorra have responded well after the disappointing 3-0 defeat to Latvia on the opening day. They followed that with goalless draw with their Tuesday hosts Moldova, before they saw out Liechtenstein 2-1 last Friday.
They will now be looking to make back-to-back victories as they also seek to challenge for the top finish. However, Andorra have lost 14 of their last 18 away international games across all competitions and will need to be at the top of their game to get something here.
