Both Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the Championship when they lock horns this Wednesday at the Riverside Stadium with kickoff at 21:45.
Middlesbrough opened their 2021-22 Championship campaign with 1-1 draw against Fulham after having a good run in the pre-season preparations. Harry Wilson opened the scoring for Fulham in the first half before Marc Bola leveled the scores for Middlesbrough in the second half.
However, Boro fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Blackpool in the first round of EFL Cup last Wednesday. After the heavy defeat manager Neil Warnock did not shy away from criticizing the level of performance at the Bloomfield Road.
Both the players and supporters responded well praising Warnock as Boro posted a crucial 2-1 win over the formidable Bristol City. Warnock was delighted that he got the reaction he wanted with the two goals coming from new signings Uche Ikpeazu and Matt Crooks.
Neil Warnock will expect his side to take the confidence from their weekend’s win and the pre-season run as they look to continue in their winning ways.
Meanwhile Queens Park Rangers had a strong pre-season run recording 4-2 win against Manchester United, 2-1 win over Cambridge and 3-3 draw against Leicester City and have carried that form into their new campaign.
Despite not winning on their opening day QPR have maintained their unbeaten run as they opened with a 1-1 draw against Millwall and proceeded to record a 5-3 win over Leyton Orient through penalties as both sides could not be separated from their 1-1 after 90 minutes.
QPR proceeded to secure their first win of the campaign last weekend when they beat Hull City 3-0 at away with Chris Willock, Lyndon Dykes and Robert Dickie getting on the scoresheet. QPR will fancy their chances here as they are in a fine form and looking to keep that form in today’s clash.
