Mexico will take on Colombia for the first time in 10 years at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in an international friendly fixture on Wednesday.
Both sides won their previous friendly matches with Mexico snatching a late 1-0 win over Peru, while Colombia claimed a comfortable 4-0 win over Guatemala.
Mexico had a poor performance though in their win over Peru as they only registered one short on target, but they will be happy with the result that snapped their winless run against South American opposition in three years.
Prior to the win they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Paraguay and they will want to end the international break on a positive note, but they need to play their top football on Wednesday.
Colombia increased their winning run with their Sunday win over Guatemala to four matches now across all competitions, keeping three clean sheets in the run.
They will now be looking to extend that run on Wednesday as their look to end their international break on positive note. Colombia missed out on a place in the World Cup finals and they will only be playing for their pride in this clash.
