Two sides with contrasting starts to the Ligue 1 campaign will go head to head as League leaders PSG travel to the Stade Saint-Symphorien to face bottom-placed Metz on Wednesday with kickoff at 22:00.
Metz have had a disappointing start to the new Ligue 1 campaign recording three draws and three defeats in their opening six matches and currently sit at the root of the league standing with only three points from 18 on offer this season. The current record that this club has posted is a drop to that of last season’s as they were number 15 in the table with seven points a year ago.
Metz have displayed one of the worst defences in this campaign as they have conceded 13 goals in six matches while they have scored seven. They continued their poor form last weekend where they suffered 3-0 defeat to Strasbourg with all the three goals coming in the first half.
Metz now face the toughest challenge of the season when they welcome PSG, a side they have failed to beat in their last 13 meetings with PSG keeping seven clean sheets in the process.
PSG have made a perfect start to their new campaign and they seem to have their eyes on Ligue 1 glory having lost out to Lille last term. The visitors have won all their six opening matches keeping two clean sheets in the process and are now the league leaders with 18 points, five points clear over second-placed Marseille.
Les Parisiens have displayed an impressive attack as they have scored 18 goals in their six league games while they have conceded seven goals and head into the Wednesday’s clash off the back of a dramatic 2-1 win at Lyon.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side also boast in a good form as they have not lost any of their last 18 matches across all competitions and stretching back to last season. Also, while Metz have been struggling at home, PSG have been good at away as the have not lost in any of their last eight matches.
