Liverpool will welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Anfield for their Premier League Matchday Nine tie on Saturday evening. Liverpool have a had difficult start to the new campaign as they have failed entirely to get going in the Premier League, except for a 9-0 annihilation of Bournemouth and they did at least show some fleeting glimpses of their old selves in their most-recent game, where they won 2-1 over Ajax in the Champions League. They currently sit eighth on nine points from six matches, nine points off the summit and eight points behind main rivals for the title challenge, Man City, although they have played one match less than both City and Arsenal. They drew 0-0 at Everton in the previous league fixture and they will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday when Brighton come calling. The Reds are unbeaten at home in their four fixtures at home this season across all competitions, winning the last three consecutively and they will desperate to continue the momentum in this clash. New Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi faces a baptism of fire as he leads his side to Anfield on Saturday. Brighton lost Graham Potter to Chelsea before the international break and in his place Roberto De Zerbi took over. De Zerbi is tasked with maintain the Seagulls raise in the top flight and their impressive start to this season. He has inherited a well-coached and oiled squad that had won four of their opening six matches, drawing one and losing one in the process. The Seagulls sit fourth in the Premier League standings currently on 13 points, five points off the summit with a game in hand on the leaders Arsenal and four points above their Saturday hosts Liverpool. They claimed a confidence-boosting 5-2 win over Leicester last time out and they will be hoping to build on it in this clash. However they have only beaten Liverpool once in their last 12 meetings and they will need to bring more than their best game to Anfield to get away with something on Saturday.
