Liverpool will be looking for their first victory in the new Premier League campaign when they welcome newly-promoted Bournemouth to Anfield for their Matchday four fixture on Saturday. Liverpool’s dismal start to new league campaign has taken everyone by surprise, as they came close to an unprecedented Quadruple last season and it was expected of them to regroup and make another bid to snatch the title from Manchester City. However, they have stuttered at the early stages of the campaign as they have failed to win any of their opening three matches, drawing the first two with Fulham (2-2) and Crystal Palace (1-1) while suffering a 2-1 defeat to arch-rival Man United on the third day. The Reds were expected to get back on track in that fixture as they rivals, United, were low on spirits having just suffered a 4-0 to Brentford. But the Reds failed to turn up on the day and they are now behind Man United in the league standings, while are five points behind Man City and thus they will be desperate for a win on Saturday as they need to stop losing further ground in the title race. Bournemouth, meanwhile, made an impressive start to the campaign for a newly promoted side as they claimed a comfortable 2-0 over Aston Villa at home. However, they have since been given a raincheck in their following two matches as they fell to a 4-0 defeat at Man City before going down 3-0 at home to the league pace-setters Arsenal. Their nightmares seem not end this weekend as they travel to Anfield to take a bite on a wounded Liverpool, who are looking to sink their teeth back into the title hunt.
