Everton vs Brighton

Everton will host Brighton at the Goodison Park in their first Premier League fixture of 2023 on Tuesday night. Everton ended the year on high following an unexpected 1-1 draw against the champions Manchester City. However, they have still made a woeful campaign so far in the top fight as they currently just hover above the relegation zone, with only a point and two places separating them and 18^th-placed Nottingham Forest. Therefore, the Toffees will be desperate to start 2023 on a positive note and will look to draw confidence from the draw against City. Meanwhile, Brighton ended the year with a 4-2 home defeat to league leaders Arsenal. The Seagulls though, have many positives to take from the game, with manager Di Zerbi saying that the Gunners were lucky to win on the day in the post-match interview. It has been a brilliant campaign though for Brighton who currently sit ninth on 24 points from 16 games and will be looking to keep their top half spot with a positive start to 2023.
