Brighton will look to make it four wins in a row in all competitions when they welcome Aston Villa to the Amex for their Premier League Matchday 16 on Sunday. Brighton struggled to find their feet under Roberto De Zerbi, going winless in his first five league matches, suffering three defeats in the run. However, the Seagulls managed to bounce back on first Graham Potter’s return to the Amex, as they trashed his new side Chelsea 4-1. Since they have followed up with a 2-3 win at Wolves in the top flight and a 3-1 at Arsenal in the EFL Cup. Returning home, De Zerbi’s side will be looking to maintain the new found momentum as they hope to into the World Cup break in the top six places. They currently sit sixth in the Premier League standings, level on 21 points with seventh-placed Chelsea and two behind fifth-placed Man United. Meanwhile, Aston Villa enjoyed a new manager bounce back in a style last time out as they picked up a shocking 3-1 win over Man United at Villa Park. They however could not beat the Red Devils twice successively in a week as they fell to a 4-2 defeat at the Old Trafford in the EFL Cup on Thursday night. But, Villa could not have been expecting a replica of their last weekend’s performance in the Thursday clash. They will want to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League though and will to draw confidence from their previous league result. They also beat Brighton 2-0 home and away last season in the top flight and will be hoping for the same.
