The Premier League returns following the international break with a blockbuster North London derby opening Matchday Nine as Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon. Prior to the international break Arsenal got their campaign back on track as they run out 3-0 winners at the Brentford Community Stadium. The Gunners were dominant in that tie, extending their excellent start to the season, as they have now won six of their seven matches played. Mikel Arteta’s side went into the first international break sitting at the top of the Premier League one point above both Manchester City and Tottenham. With the strong start to the campaign some pundits have been prompted to highlight the Gunners as potential Premier League winners and a visit from their arch-rivals Tottenham should provide Arteta’s side with a stern test of their title credentials. Tottenham have also done well in their campaign this season as they currently sit just one points and two places behind Arsenal. They are jointly on 17 points with Man City after seven matches and they are the only Premier League sides that remain unbeaten this season. Spurs run rampant on Leicester City before the international break beating the Foxes 6-2, with Son scoring a 13-minute hat-trick after getting substitute on in the 56th six minute. Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Rodrigo Bentancur also got their names on the scoresheet. The Lilywhites will therefore be buzzing after that rampant win as they hope to climb over the Gunners with a positive result on Saturday. However, the Emirates is a hostile place for Spurs and they have failed to win any of their last 11 North London derbies at away in the League.
