English Premier League 2021-22
19-12-2021 Newcastle Man City

Man City will be looking to keep their top-spot in the Premier League when they welcome Newcastle United to Etihad for their Matchday 36 fixture on Sunday evening with kickoff at 18:30. Manchester City completely hit the self-destruct button in their all-important Champions League semi-final second leg at Real Madrid on Wednesday night, conceding two goals from in the last minutes of the match to push the game in extra time, where Karim Benzema finished them off. Man City now only have the Premier League title remaining to fight for and the remaining fixtures are all-must win for them to retain the title. With the title race heading towards a dramatic climax, Pep Guardiola is now tasked with lifting his players' spirits ahead of Sunday's visit from Newcastle. Newcastle on the other hand have recorded a remarkable run since their appointed Eddie Howe as their manager back in November.  They currently are in the mix for a top half finish as they sit 11th just a point behind Brighton. They head into the match on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool though, and will now look to do the Reds a massive favour on Sunday when they come against a Manchester City side reeling from their loss last time out.
