After their shocking victory last weekend, Brentford take on another London outfits, West Ham, in their Premier League Matchday 32 tie at Brentford Community Stadium on Sunday evening with kickoff at 16:00 EAT.
Brentford shocked the Premier League last time out as they stunned Chelsea with a 4-1 victory at Stamford Bridge. The Blues took the lead through Antonio Rudiger’s spectacular strike, but that was followed by 10-minute flurry of Brentford strikes that saw Vitaly Janelt bag a brace, while Christian Eriksen and Yoane Wissa bagged one each.
The Bees have now won three of their last four Premier League matches, with a 2-1 loss to Leicester City being the only blemish in the run.
With 33 points from 31 matches, Thomas Frank’s side now sit 14th in the top flight standings, nine points above the relegation zone and just four off Leicester City in the top half of the table. They will now be looking to continue climbing away from the drop zone and closer to the top-half with another positive result on Sunday.
The Bess already edged West Ham 2-1 at away this season in the reverse fixture and should be confident of marching the Hammers in front of their own fans.
West Ham on the other hand, were held to 1-1 draw by Lyon in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie on Thursday night. They have now lost just one of their last five matches across all competitions, while have lost just two of their last eight Premier League matches.
They currently sit sixth in the league standings on 51 points from 31 games, level on points with seventh-placed Man United, and are just three points behind Tottenham who sit fourth in the standings, but level on 54 points with Arsenal.
West Ham ae still very much in contention for the top four, although they have played at least one match more than the other three. With the league on its final straight the Hammers cannot afford to drop points if they are to stand a chance of finishing in the top four.
They are however, in a poor on the road form as they have lost each of their last four away matches in all competitions and are winless away from home in the top flight since the turn of the year.
