Manchester United vs Aston Villa Match Analysis and Prediction

The Premier league is back in action this weekend as Manchester United host Aston Villa for the sixth round of the league at Old Trafford on Saturday with kickoff at 14:30.

Both sides head into the match looking to bounce back from their League Cup exits last Wednesday with Manchester United losing out 1-0 to West Ham while Aston Villa lost 4-3 on penalties to Chelsea after ending the match 1-1 in regular time.

The two sides have made slightly contrasting starts to the new Premier League season with Manchester United making a strong start to the campaign as they have recorded four wins and a draw in their five opening matches and currently occupy the third spot in the league standings with 13 points level with Chelsea and Liverpool who have superior goal differences, while Aston Vila have made a mixed-up start to the new campaign recording two wins, two defeats and a draw in their opening five games and currently occupy the 10^th spot with seven points in English top-flight standings.

However, both teams head into the match off the back of victories in their last Premier League fixtures with the Red Devils recording a dramatic 2-1 win against West Ham at the London Stadium last Sunday with Cristiano Ronaldo getting on the score sheet again for the third time in his second Premier League match, while Villa are off an impressive 3-0 triumph over Everton at Villa Park last Saturday with all the three goals being scored in a period of nine minutes.

Manchester United are clear and obvious favorites and will fancy their chances here since Villa have an appalling record against them as they have only won one of their last 19 meetings against the Manchester side who have kept seven clean sheets in the process. However, both sides are level in terms of match forms as both have lost two and drew one of their last six matches and considering the quality of Dan Smith’s side, we should expect a hard fought and entertaining match.
