Dundee United vs Kilmarnock Match Analysis & Prediction
24/05/2023 9:45 pm
Dundee United and Kilmarnock will meet at Tannadice on Wednesday night knowing that the result of this game could determine their fate in the Scottish Premiership.
The bottom-placed hosts trail the visitors by three points but with a superior goal difference, yet a win for Kilmarnock would leave Dundee United on the brink of relegation.
Having put together a three-game winning run in April, Dundee United looked to be well on course for survival under the recently-appointed Jim Goodwin.
However, losing the same number of matches in succession has changed the equation for the worse, Dundee United now back at the bottom of the table with two games left to play.
With a trip to resurgent Motherwell to come on the final day, the Terrors are under huge pressure to get another three points on the board against a direct rival.
Aside from recently losing 2-1 to Ross County, Dundee United have been relatively impressive on home soil, picking up seven points from the three matches preceding that defeat.
Winning three of their last seven matches has been enough to move Kilmarnock into 10th ahead of facing the two teams below them.
Suffering a 1-0 defeat to St Johnstone last time out came as a blow, although Derek McInnes may takke the positives from not conceding with 10 men for over half the game.
Since losing 4-1 at home to Celtic in April, Kilmarnock have conceded just three goals in four matches, keeping clean sheets in wins over St Mirren and Livingston.
