Luxembourg will be looking to end their UEFA Nations League in a style when they welcome a struggling and already relegated Lithuania to Stade de Luxembourg on Sunday night.

Luxembourg have already secured their League C status in the Nations League, as they head into the final day having collected eight points from their five matches and currently sit second, three points above third-placed Faroe Islands.

They are however five points behind group leaders Turkey and hence cannot challenge for a promotion to League B. they started positively winning both their opening two fixtures, but have since lost once and drawn twice in their last three Group C1 fixtures.

Therefore, they will be looking to bounce back on Sunday as they seek to close this year’s campaign in a style. Luxembourg have not lost to Lithuania in their last four meetings, winning three times in the run – including the 2-0 away win in the reverse tie this year.

Lithuania have endured a difficult time in League C this year, as they have failed to win any of their five matches in Group 1 this year. They lost all their opening four, before drawing 1-1 with Faroe Islands last time out.

Lithuania now sit at the bottom of the group on one point, four points behind Faroe Islands in third. Therefore, heading into the final day Edgaras Jankauskas’ side have already been relegated to League D and will only be playing this match for their pride.
