Livingston vs Rangers Match Analysis and Prediction

Livingston welcome Rangers to Tony Macaroni for the 2022/23 Scottish Premiership curtain-raiser on Saturday afternoon with kickoff at 14:00.

Livingstone finished the previous campaign in the bottom half of the table, but they managed to secure a seventh-place finish in the second phase of the season, which they will be pleased with and will be looking to push for a top-half finish this time around.

The Lions got their season underway earlier this month as they took part in the group stage of the Scottish League Cup, finishing second in Group G which saw them secure a place in the next round.

They beat Kelty Hearts 2-0 on Saturday at home in their final group stage fixture, which is a good confidence-booster ahead of their Premiership opener against Rangers.

Rangers failed to retain their Premiership title last season as they finished second, four points behind champions Celtic. However, were they managed to reach the Europa League final and they won the Scottish Cup.

Heading into the first full season under Giovanni Van Bronkhorst, the Gers main target will be to regain the league title from their bitter rivals Celtic this season.

There were some encouraging signs towards the end of last season and during the preseason and Bronkhorst will be eager to see his side hit the ground running in West Lothian this weekend.
