Both Livingston and Hibernian will be looking to make it back-to-back victories on the bounce in the Premiership when they lock horns at Tony Macaroni Arena in their second Matchday tie of the Relegation Group on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Both sides did not have decent campaigns in the first phase of the season with both missing out on Championship on the final day of the phase with Livingstone recording a 2-2 draw, while Hibernian falling to a 3-1 defeat to Hearts. Hibs proceeded to lose 2-1 to Hearts in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup before the start of the second phase.
Both sides, Livingstone and Hibernian, opened the second phase on the front foot with the Lions edging Aberdeen 2-1 at away last Saturday, while the Hibs squeezed a 1-0 victory out of St Mirren at away on the same day.
The victories have helped the two increase their chances of survival as Hibernian now sit at the top of the Relegation Group level on 41 points with Livingston who sit second on goal-difference, and the two are some 10 points above the bottom two.
With now four matches to go it will take a great effort for St Johnstone to reduce the gap between themselves and Livingston or Hibernian, but these two will want to continue winning to seal their survival. A win for either is therefore vital and both will be gunning for the three points.
However, Livingston have won the last two meetings against Hibernian and will try to draw confidence form that.
