Lithuania will be looking to return to winning ways as they host neighbors Estonia in the first round of the 2021 Baltic Cup this Tuesday at LFF Stadium with kickoff at 19: 00.
Baltic cup is a mini-tournament contested by the nation teams of the Baltic States and they include Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Finland have also contested in the cup twice as guests.
Latvia have been the strongholds in the mini-tournament winning the cup 13 times and are the reigning champions since 2010. Lithuania will be looking to end their 11-year drought and break Latvia’s reign as they face lowly Estonia who have not won the cup ever since 1938.
Lithuania will be keen to end their three-match loss steak a period which they have gone goalless and conceded seven goals.
Estonia on the other hand are one of the weakest sides in Europe and in the Baltic Cup as they have only managed to finish in the runners-up position in 2018 since 1938 when they last lifted the trophy and have only managed a 0-0 draw to Georgia in their last six European matches. Estonia have not won in any of their last 19 matches with 10 away defeats.
