Liechtenstein vs Andorra Match Analysis and Prediction

In a contest at the bottom of the UEFA Nations League’s fourth tier, international underdogs Liechtenstein and Andorra go head to head on Thusrady.

Three months after the League D Group 1 rivals met in Andorra la Vella, they meet at Rheinpark Stadium in Vaduz, where the hosts will be looking for their first points of the campaign.

Sitting at the bottom of the standings, having failed to collect a single point across four National League matches to date, Liechtenstein resume their search for an evasive victory this week.

After suffering a 2-0 defeat to Moldova, they were edged out 1-0 by Latvia on the second matchday, before heading to Andorra’s modest Estadi Nacional four days later.

Heading into the final 15 minutes, Martin Stocklasa’s side were on course to play out a goalless draw and claim a rare point, but two Andorran goals in the space of four minutes eventually sent them home empty-handed.

Losing each of their last 10 matches, while failing to win for 21 matches since September 2020, Stocklasa is yet to steer his side to even a single draw since being promoted to the senior setup from the U21, so he will be desperate to finally do so on Thursday.

When Andorra last met Liechtenstein back in June, both nations were winless from their opening two matches, but Andorra’s 2-1 victory followed a goalless draw with Moldova, moving them onto four points in League D Group 1.

Head coach Koldo Alvarez will now target catching the Moldovans for second spot over the course of the next week, but leaders Latvia are already off into the distance with four wins from four.

Andorra began their new Nations League campaign with a defeat to League C-bound Latvia, before losing a third straight away game to Moldova in their most recent game.

Liechtenstein news

Liechtenstein’s Noah Frick could join his brother Yanik Frick in the starting XI, while both Niklas Beck and Aron Sele will miss out through suspension.

FC Vaduz midfielder Nicolas Hasler will again captain the squad, while head coach Martin Stocklasa will hand Hasler’s clubmate Jonas Hilti his first senior call-up.

Andorra news

Andorra will once again name defender Ildefons Lima in their latest selection, while Max Llovera and Albert Alavedra will team up at the heart of the visitors’ defence.

Albert Rosas is likely to partner Ricard Fernandez up front, though the pair have only one international goal betweem themselves to date.

Prediction and Odds

Liechtenstein may add to their goal tally, while scoring even once would immediately double it, but they could continue their losing streak though.

Andorra have only failed to score three times in their last nine matches, and we believe they can overcome their struggles on the road to take maximum points.
