Leicester and Leuven will continue their pre-season preparations when they lock horns in a friendly encounter at King Power at Den Dreef Stadion in Heverlee, Belgium, on Saturday evening.
Leuven will be looking to extend their winning streak in their pre-season period having already all their last three friendlies this summer, beating Sporting Charleroi (3-1), Beerschot V.A. (2-1) and Amiens (4-2).
They will now take on Leicester City in their final pre-season friendly before kicking off their Belgian Pro League on date 23 of this month against KV Kortrijk at away.
Leuven finished 11th in the league last season picking up 41 points from 34 matches, but they will be looking to surpass that mark in the 2022/23 campaign as they seek to lead close to the playoffs II.
Meanwhile Leicester City opened their pre-season preparations on the back foot as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Notts County at their training ground last Saturday.
They will now be looking to bounce back in this friendly, before they take on Hull City, Derby County, Preston North End and Sevilla in their next pre-season matches as they seek to build a good form heading into in the 2022/23 Premier League opener against Brentford on August 7.
The Foxes are yet to make a first-team signing this summer, while there has only been one outgoing – Edin Jakupovic leaving on a free transfer; there is expected to be movement over the next few weeks, though, with Rodgers looking to boost his squad for the 2022-23 campaign.
