Both Lens and Lyon will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in Ligue 1 when they lock horns at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in what is expected to be an interesting league encounter on Saturday evening with kickoff at 19:00.
Lens have been inconsistent throughout the campaign but Peter Bosz and co will be delighted with their position in the standings right now. They will also be delighted with their 3-2 win against Bordeaux at home last Sunday as the win saw them retain their eighth position while moving them to one point within the European places.
The win also saw them bounce back from their back-to-back defeats in Ligue one marking their 10th victory this season while it was their third win in their last five league matches. Les Girondins also needed the win as it was a massive confidence booster ahead of their important Saturday fixture.
Only one point separate the two sides and Lens will go for a win as they aim at leapfrogging their opponents while hoping to break into the top five.
Meanwhile Lyon endured a hectic start to the campaign with the club spending most of the first half of the season in the bottom half of the table. However, Les Gones have been in a resurgent form lately with the club losing just one of their last nine top-flight matches, claiming four victories and four draws in the process.
As a result Lyon now sit in the seventh level on 37 points with both Rennes and Monaco who sit in the fifth and sixth respectively, and they sit just four points outside the Champions League places.
They are coming off a massive confidence boosting 2-0 home win against Nice last Saturday, with the win responding greatly to their 2-0 defeat to Monaco in the previous match. They will be aiming to continue with their recent momentum as they aim at securing a top-four finish.
They will fancy their chances as they have not lost to Lens in their last five meetings claiming four victories including the 2-1 win at home in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
