A resurgent Brentford side travel to King Power to take on Leicester City in their Premiere League Matchday 30 tie on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Despite losing out 2-1 against Rennes at Roazhon Park on Thursday night in the second leg of their Europa Conference League last-16 tie, Leicester booked a place in the quarter-finals of the competitions following a 3-2 victory on aggregate. They will be taking on Eredivisie outfit PSV in the quarter-finals.
Back to the Premier League the Foxes failed to extend their back-to-back victories as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend with Thomas Partey and Alexandr Lacazzete condemning Brendan Rodgers’ side to their 11th defeat in the top-flight this season.
They remain 12th in the Premier League standings and despite playing at least one match less than all the other top-tier teams, Leicester will not be able to get close to the top-four this season as they are some 18 points behind the fourth-placed Arsenal.
However, they are just two points outside the top half and will be looking to get themselves into the half with a win on Sunday. They will fancy they chances having won in all there last three fixtures against Brentford and have been in a fine home lately winning three home matches in a row.
The Bees on the other hand managed to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League last time out as they claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over relegation-threatened Burnley last weekend at home. Prior to that Brentford were off a 3-1 victory against another relegation-threatened outfit Norwich City at away, ending their nine-match winless run across all competitions.
As a result the Bees have stretched the gap between them and the drop zone to eight points as they now sit 15th on 30 points from 29 matches. With only five points separating them and the 10th-placed Southampton Brentford will be looking up the table and thus will be in for another positive result on Sunday.
