Leeds United will be looking to bounce back from their thrashing 5-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United when they lock horns with Everton in their second Premier League match at Elland Road on Saturday with kickoff at 17:00.
Leeds were ruthlessly dismantled by their old foes Manchester United during the 5-1 trouncing at Old Trafford last Saturday a game in which Luke Ayling’s screamer from 25-yards out equalized for Leeds in the early stages of the second half but Solskjaer’s United put four past the Whites to hurl them into opening day agony.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men will now be desperate and eager to bounce back and put their three points of the season on the board against Everton at home in front of a full house.
Leeds head into the match in poor form as they haven’t won in their last six matches across all competitions, however, the Whites will use their home advantage against Everton as they have done before since during the last 14 meetings with Leeds Playing at home, they have won eight times while Everton have won only twice and there have been four draws. The goal difference is 20-10 in favor of the hosts.
Meanwhile Everton started their new campaign under the management of the controversial manager Rafa Benitez with a 3-1 win over Southampton at Goodison Park last Saturday. Rafa’s appointment was met with backlash by some fans of the Blues fanbase but the opening victory was a crucial fist step in a bid to win over the skeptical supporters.
The Merseyside giants will head into the Saturday’s clash aiming for their second straight league victory as Rafa Benitez continues to search for the full Blues fanbase support. Everton are in a good form as they have only lost two of their last six matches across all competitions winning all the remaining four. Also, the Toffees were excellent in their away matches last season recording only two away defeats and they recorded a 2-1 win in the corresponding match against Leeds last season.
